About this Piece

Sláinte is a word which needs no translation and can be heard in bars all over the world. Words have been cherished in Ireland since the first lines were carved on Ogham stones and they are celebrated in the song, poetry and the art of everyday conversation.

After years in decline, the Irish language is experiencing a resurgence and its beauty can be seen in this award-winning design, originally carved by Adam Grabski. This piece is part of our Scríobh Range which celebrates popular Irish words and phrases.
