Ogham is the earliest known form of writing in Ireland. It consists of 20 linear characters which are read from the bottom up and was originally it was inscribed on to standing stones. Many examples of Ogham can can still be found today in Ireland, Scotland and Wales, with the bulk of these being found in Munster, the southern region of Ireland. Dating back from 400AD, Ogham is a fascinating part of Irish history, and was thought to be used to commemorate someone. Ethel pays tribute to this history with her beautifully rendered Ogham Wish collection. Their unique and delicate composition, coupled with their place in Irish heritage and history, makes the gift of Ogham writing quite special. Each piece from Ogham Wish is hand-painted, with many custom options available, making an Ogham Wish a thoughtful and personal gift from Ireland.
