Hello everyone!
It’s that time of year again in the Irish midlands. the cutting, saving, and bringing home of the turf. I thought I’d share a little video from my own experience, because for me, this is more than just fuel for the fire. It’s part of growing up in County Offaly, in the heart of the Bog of Allen.
Every year, we bring in our own turf to heat the home, and there’s something special about it. The warmth is lovely, of course, but it’s the smell of an Irish turf fire that really brings back memories. Have a look at my video below and come along with me to the bog.
I’m delighted to share this lovely and unique Irish gift with you too. It is a small ceramic Irish pub that holds a piece of real Irish turf, ready to burn gently at home. As it smoulders, it releases that unmistakable scent of the Irish countryside, the same warm, earthy smell many of us remember from turf fires in homes across Ireland. A simple little gift, but one filled with nostalgia, comfort, and a true sense of place.
Take a look at the incense burner here, it’s one of those small gifts that really captures a feeling of Ireland. The little ceramic pub, the piece of real turf, and that warm countryside scent make it a lovely reminder of home, heritage, and quieter days by the fire.
It’s well worth a look, especially if you love Irish traditions or want to send someone a gift with a real story behind it.
Slán for now,
Aidan 💚🇮🇪☘️
