The Regan family crest is illustrated at the center and surrounded by famous Celtic symbols of Ireland. These illustrations are a wonderful dedication to Irish last names.

There is so much to take in. This parchment is an heirloom for many generations yet to come. It's a wonderful reminder of your Irish heritage.

On your living room wall, you will always be reminded of your Irish origins and it will be a show stopper for visiting friends and family. Presenting a family coat of arms gift is a truly special gift for the home for someone special who has that unique Irish connection.

The Regan Coat Of Arms Story

Read the intriguing transcription of the text illustrated on the Regan family history parchment:

The name is one that is very frequently found and widely distributed throughout Ireland. In common with other names of this kind, it seems that the number of early groups to hold the name grew up independently in different areas. The most important of these was the clan of O Riagain whose territory lay in counties Meath and Dublin. They were known as one of the four tribes of Tara, and figured largely in the struggle against the Norsemen. By the middle of the ninth century these raiders had taken their galleys up the Bann to Lough Neagh and up the Shannon to the general plain. Another significant sept were descended from Riagan who has nephew of Brian Boru, the hero of the Battle of Clontarf in 1014 which provided a final check on the Norse conquest. They were associated with the Thomond area of Limerick. The Anglo-Norman invasion in the twelfth century dispersed the former group although their descendants can still be found in country Leix were many of their ancestors migrated. In modern times, it is County Cork where the greatest concentration of Regans and O’Regans occur. There have been various attempts to link the existing groups. Several seventeenth century authorities claim that some of the Limerick branch stem from the county Leix O’Regans and certainly some families in both areas bear the same arms. Two Regans have been particularly notable in Irish history. Maurice O’Regan wrote a contemporary account of the Norman invasion under Strongbow, as Richard de Clare was known. Teize O’Regan is remembered for his distinguished action at the seige of Limerick in the service of James II.
