Founded in 1965, Aran Woollen Mills has become Ireland's largest home-based knitwear manufacturer. After over half a century of crafting traditional and contemporary Irish knitwear as well as homeware and accessories, Aran has remained a family business with strong links to local textile and knitting industries spanning multiple generations.

The company is based in the beautiful town of Westport, on Ireland's rugged Atlantic coast. When you're surrounded by such stunning environments such as the Wild Atlantic Way and Croagh Patrick, you can't help but take inspiration from the local design and symbolism! From the fisherman's cable (representing safety and good luck) to the honeycomb (a just reward for hard work), every design has its roots in Irish heritage.

Working almost exclusively with natural materials, Aran knitwear remains as much in fashion today as it did yesteryear. It is constantly evolving and innovations in styling and yarns ensure it belongs in today’s wardrobe even more so than at any time in past.
