About Connemara Marble
Connemara Marble
Connemara marble is an extremely rare form of marble, found exclusively on the coast of Connemara, Galway, at the heart the Wild Atlantic Way. It is also known as the ‘Irish Gemstone’ because of its distinctive green hues, and is closely associated with Irish heritage.
The Connemara Marble company was the founded 75 years ago by Thomas Walsh, crafting pieces in a small workshop in the heart of Dublin City. His son John joined him in the business and the company became J.C. Walsh & Sons Ltd.
The company grew and expanded, producing handmade Irish gifts and Celtic jewelry made from this precious natural resource.
John’s son Stephen followed in his father’s footsteps in 1975 and is at the helm of the company today.
The immense pride that he and his team have in this family business is reflected in every piece that they create. The dazzling patterns seen in Connemara marble make it a beautiful material for crafting Celtic jewelry and uniquely Irish gifts. We at Gifts of Ireland are immensely proud to showcase such beautifully crafted and distinctively Irish pieces of Connemara marble from J.C. Walsh & Sons.
